Heart disease and their prevention through diet

He is a non-alcoholic and does not smoke too. Therefore, it is a myth that you can have heart disease only if you drink and smoke a lot. I will tell you what heart disease is. It is Types, its symptoms, its causes, and its prevention through diet.

What is Heart disease?

Anything covering disorder in the heart is heart disease. Simple define but complicated to deal with.

Types of Heart Disease

Congenital Heart Disease

There are some forms of deformities of heart, which have been present since birth. Examples are:-

  • Septal defects: – There is a hole between two chambers of the heart.
  • Obstruction defects:- Flow of blood is blocked through the chamber of blood partially or fully.
  • Cyanotic Heart disease: – This defect cause a shortage of oxygen in the body.

Arrhythmia

In it, person have an irregular heartbeat.

There are several ways in which the rate of heartbeat changes:-

  • Tachycardia: – It is when the heart beats too fast.
  • Bradycardia:-It is when the heart beats too slowly.
  • Premature ventricular contractions: – It is when the heart beats abnormally.
  • Fibrillation:-When heartbeat is irregular

It happens when electrical pulses in the heart do not coordinate with heartbeats. Many experience irregular heartbeat. It feels like heart racing.

Coronary Artery Disease

Coronary arteries supply the heart muscles with nutrients and oxygen by circulating blood. Coronary arteries can become damaged because the plaque deposit contains cholesterol. Plaque buildup narrows the coronary artery and the heart receives less oxygen and nutrients.

Dilated cardiomyopathy

In it, heart chambers are dilated. It is because of the weakening of heart muscles that heart cannot pump blood properly. The most common reason is that enough oxygen is not reaching the heart muscle. This effect left ventricle.

Heart attack

In it, blood flow becomes interrupted or destroys heart muscle. It is usually caused by a blood clot that develops in one coronary artery.

Heart failure

It happens when the heart is not pumping blood around the body efficiently. High blood pressure builds up in it, which makes the heart stiff and weak.

Pulmonary stenosis

In it, pumping blood becomes hard for the heart from the right ventricle to pulmonary artery as pulmonary valve becomes tight. Right ventricle has to work hard to overcome the obstruction.

  • Chest Pain
  • Breathlessness
  • Indigestion
  • Heartburn
  • Pain traveling through the body
  • Sweating
  • Vomiting
  • Tiredness
  • Clubbed Fingernails

Diet to prevent Heart Disease (Dieticians advice)

Oatmeal

It is highly fiber soluble and helps in reducing cholesterol of the body. It soaks up cholesterol just like a sponge.

Strawberries

Strawberries and other berry foods help in decreasing blood pressure and dilating blood vessels.

Dark Chocolate

Consuming chocolate daily can reduce heart attacks and stroke. It also helps in blood pressure, inflammation and clotting. Milk chocolates and candy do not protect the heart.

Citrus Fruits

They help in blood clotting but their sugary component can reduce the work of low-calorie foods. So do not eat them in excess.

Soy

Soy products like Soymilk add protein in your diet without unhealthy fats and cholesterol. It reduces blood pressure in people. It also helps in decreasing bad cholesterol.

Potatoes

Potatoes should not be deep-fried. They are rich in potassium and help in lowering the blood pressure.

Tomatoes

They help in getting rid of bad cholesterol keeping the heart vessels open and reducing the risk of heart attack.

Nuts

They help in reducing bad cholesterol. Red more about benefits of walnuts.

Olive Oil

Having at least 4 TSP of it, a day can reduce the risk of heart attacks.

Red Wine

It helps to reduce heart disease risk.
