Can Fat Burners really help you to burn your Fat?

The term “Fat Burner” relates to the nutrition supplements, which are aimed at burning fat. They do this through increasing fat metabolism, increasing energy expenditure and increasing fat oxidation. There are a number of fat burners available in the market. The most important among them being caffeine, L-Carnitine, green tea, protein powder, soluble fiber, conjugated linoleic acid (CLA), forskolin, chromium, ketones, Synephrine, Yohimbine etc.

There are various mechanisms, which highlight the working of fat burners. Let us discuss them one by one.

Thermogenesis

A process in which heat is created in the body, which facilitates the burning of calories, and fat oxidation in the body is called thermogenesis. This, in turn, leads to weight loss. The fat burners work on this mechanism of action. The fat burners speed up the process of thermogenesis slightly. Actually, proper digestion in the body demands warmth. When this warmth is provided with the help of these fat burners, the body undergoes a good metabolism process. A good metabolism ensures faster disposal of wastes out of the body. This, in turn, increases the capacity of the body to intake nutrients per meal. When the intake of nutrients is increased, the body’s natural processes undergo a boost and fat is easily oxidized. Hence, the body begins to lose fat and consequently leading to weight loss.

Lipolysis 

The process of lipolysis involves the breakdown of stored triglycerides into components such as glycerol and fatty acids. Taking fat burners provides an impetus to speed up this process of lipolysis.

Fat blocking

Some of the fat burners are composed of chitosan. Chitosan is a substance well known to bind fat in the body and prevent fat absorption. Consequently, the individual experiences significant weight loss.

Appetite

hen appetites are suppressed, the body no longer demands food and when resistance is developed to these foods, naturally the person will become thin. The fat burners do this by sending a sort of specific signal to the brain saying that the stomach is full. The brain then very easily resists the temptation related to eating any food. When there is less intake of food, naturally the person loses weight.

Energy level

When a person is on diet, he suffers from a lack of energy in the body plus a situation of low stamina. Although he is on dieting, the mental firmness regarding weight loss is put to a halt. At this condition, the body should be supplemented with fat burners as they increase the energy level in the body and boost the stamina. Moreover, they do not provide an alternative to remove the bound fat from the body, which might result in various ailments like stomachache, diarrhea, anal leakage etc.

Increases blood pressure

Though the fat burners speed up the metabolism rate, they tend to increase blood pressure and heart rate in the process. Increased blood pressure and heart rate is a home for several health-related ailments.

Allergies in some cases

The ingredients used by these fat burners are witnessed to have caused allergies in people sensitive to them. This is because of the various reactions that occur in the body when you consume them.

Problem of dehydration

The central theme of fat burners revolves around heat production in the body. So, the prolonged use of the fat burners might cause excessive heat which in turn, may lead to dehydration, especially in hot weather conditions.

Increases anxiety

Some of the fat burners consist of cortisol, a stress hormone. So, when these fat burners are taken in a large amount, they increase anxiety and stress.

Sleep disorder

Fat burners like caffeine work by increasing heart rate and metabolism. This disturbs the sleep in a negative way and leads to problems like sleep loss.

Too much caffeine

Almost in most of the fat burners, caffeine is added in a significant amount. The excessive intake of caffeine can in extreme situations, lead to even death.

Well, after discussing the potential risks attached to the consumption of fat burners, one can very well conclude that though they burn fat, with it, they bring few added risks. We need to understand one thing very well that there cannot be any magic pill to any of our problems. Moreover, the one, which looks like a magic pill, will necessarily have some embedded faults. The best solution to the problem lies in not being a complete disciple to these fat burners but practicing other things as well. A balanced diet supplemented with proper exercising should be adopted.
